It was the middle of a 2003 snowstorm and the County of Monroe was in a State of Emergency. The Bushnell's Basin Fire Department played a prominent role in ensuring the safety of all residents, but sometimes the heroes get into trouble too. I was driving an open cab engine with a skeleton crew on our way to shut down a portion of the local expressway. Just when we got close, I hit a patch of ice and the truck spun 180 degrees on the road- miraculously, we didn't hit any other travelers. While we were rattled, it didn't stop us. Ever since then, bravery and heroes took on a new meaning for me.From early in my tenure at the Fire Department, I dedicated my talents to contribute better both the BBFD as well as (in the future with) the Monroe County Special Operations Team work. One of my prominent talents was graphic design. As a novice, I designed the patch for the Department and the bug was born.Nations Bravest is my way of honoring the men and women of the armed services, emergency, and law enforcement. The heroic actions of these individuals that dedicate their lives, whether it is volunteer or professional, need to be celebrated. ALWAYS READY Oh and I also really like beer.
Craft beer is nice, but a nice cold lager can really hit the spot. When starting my first designs, I decided there was no better way than to incorporate firefighting aspects into some of the most well known brands. I hope these make you as proud of being a firefighter as much as these do for me.
